The context
A home-design app with seasonal events, room scenes, and design challenges.
Seasonal events, design challenges, and the ops work that keeps them running.
The work behind the work.

Event release notes reflect the September 2026 source. Holiday filter launch and usage results were updated in November 2026.
A home-design app with seasonal events, room scenes, and design challenges.
Event concepts and assets, initial UX/UI collaboration, app testing, and internal admin workflows.
Three seasonal animated filters are live in the app, with a higher usage rate than other filters released during the same period. Other event release notes retain their original dates.
DecorMatters is a home design app where users decorate virtual rooms and take part in design challenges. My design operations work spans seasonal event concepts, room scenes, furniture assets, app testing, and internal admin workflows.
My work combines visual design with practical product support. I collaborate with a UX/UI designer and developers to turn ideas into initial flows and interfaces, test app updates, and improve the tools the team uses.
I developed the concept, rules, and visual assets for a Christmas tree event in the app. I also contributed initial user flows and UI in collaboration with a UX/UI designer.
Event Concept & Rules
Developed the seasonal event concept and defined its rules.
Visual Assets
Created assets to support the Christmas tree event and its visual direction.
Initial User Flows & UI
Worked with a UX/UI designer on the initial flow and interface design for the event.
Status: Approved for a planned late-November 2026 launch. The event has not launched yet.
I developed the concept and visual assets for a Halloween event in the app. The event follows the standard event format, with new seasonal features added.
Event Concept
Developed the Halloween event concept, keeping the standard event format while adding new seasonal features.
Visual Assets
Created assets to support the Halloween event and its visual direction.
Status: Approved for a planned October 2026 launch. The event has not launched yet, so visuals will be added after launch.
I optimize design challenges, room scenes, and furniture assets. This includes sourcing visual references, selecting furniture, configuring rooms in the admin CMS, and checking that the elements work together visually.
I also use AI image generation to create themed visuals for design challenges, with attention to the style and needs of each scene.
I test new app versions, report bugs, and work with developers to resolve issues. This gives me a practical view of how design and functionality come together in the app.
I collaborate with the team and developers to improve internal admin workflows used to prepare and manage design challenges.
One improvement involved organizing furniture by style category and visual grouping, making relevant pieces easier to find when preparing a room scene.
I independently designed and built three seasonal animated overlay filters for DecorMatters: Autumn Leaves, Cute Halloween, and Witchlight. Created for holiday and seasonal moments, they let users add a festive layer to their room designs before sharing them in the app.
All three filters are live in DecorMatters. The collection achieved a higher usage rate than contemporaneous filters.

Warm autumn leaves bring a seasonal accent to shared room designs.

Playful ghosts, bats, pumpkins, and stars create a lighthearted Halloween mood.

A soft violet glow and drifting sparkles add an atmospheric Halloween finish.

Each filter is designed in HTML/Canvas using procedural animation, then exported as APNG for iOS and WebP for Android. I used Claude Code to implement seamless looping animation and manage the export pipeline, connecting seasonal visual design with production-ready assets.
My contributions include an approved Christmas tree event concept, three independently designed and built seasonal animated filters, now live in the app with usage exceeding contemporaneous filters, and improvements to the internal workflow for organizing furniture assets. The Christmas tree event is planned for late November 2026 and has not launched yet. Alongside app testing and design challenge preparation, this work connects my visual design skills with user flows, interface design, and the day-to-day operations of a product team.
